To members of the Cumberland Cove POA:

Len Durham and I wish to thank all the families who came to pay tribute to our veterans on Monday, November 12.  It was a special time for all of us, especially having Susan, and Ed Van Aalten, parents of Alex Van Aalten, Shana Van Aalten, his widow, as well as Wanda Williams, mother of Luke Williams with us.  Both young men were killed in action during the present conflict. 

Thanks to Congressman Lincoln Davis ,and his Jamestown representative, John Robbins for their attendance, and the VFW Honor Guard, which included our own Al Williams  It was thrilling to watch the flag that had flown over the Capitol Building on October 11, 2007, raised on our flag pole.  Didn't the weather cooperate beautifully?

We would like to thank the Cove Board of Directors for their support in funding the memorial marker, and Lowell Perkey and his committee for preparing the landscaping around the monument.

We were very fortunate to have Chuck Gazlay and Bobby Melgar filming the event.  A DVD will be available soon, for those interested.   Thanks, guys.

Praise to our God for allowing us to live in the United States of America!!!!
